St. Francis Animal Rescue will work with you if you need to rehome your cat, return a previously adopted cat, or relinquish a stray cat.

Rehome: While we will do our best to assist, we encourage owners to explore rehoming options before surrendering a cat. To help guide you through this process, we have created a Rehoming Resource Guide that offers tips and advice on how to find a new, loving home for your cat. If rehoming is not possible, we will consider your request based on our available space and resources. Please complete the Individual Relinquishment Request form (see below).

Return: At St. Francis Animal Rescue, we are dedicated to the well-being of every cat that has been adopted from our organization. We understand that circumstances can change, and we are committed to the lifelong care of every cat adopted from St. Francis Animal Rescue. If you can no longer keep your adopted cat, we will always take them back into our care, no questions asked. Please contact us to make arrangements, and we will work with you to ensure a smooth transition for your cat. Please complete the Individual Relinquishment Request form (see below).

Relinquish: If you’ve found a stray cat and are seeking help, we review these situations on a case-by-case basis. Factors such as the cat's health, temperament, and available space at our rescue will all be considered. Please fill out the Individual Relinquishment Request form and submit it, and we will be in touch with the next steps.

For rescue organizations and area trappers, Please fill out the Rescue/Trapper Relinquishment Request form.

All Relinquishment Request forms should be filled out completely and returned to sfarvenice@gmail.com

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us care for these wonderful cats.
